Tropical sounds, shows, and exotica
The lion sleeps at night – but not at Hagenbeck. For at the Jungle Nights in the zoo, things are much too wild and mysterious. The drums begin to sing in the dark, the apes scream, the flamingos chatter and the tigers roar. The zoo is the exotic stage for a breathtaking mixture of 70 artists and 1,850 animals from all over the world.
The Jungle Nights have enchanted their visitors for 30 years now. This event draws tens of thousands of people to Tierpark Hagenbeck in Stellingen every year – not only from the north. Among rare ginkgo trees and Asian architecture, visitors experience a programme full of fantasy and emotion. The shows are colourful: Acrobatics or fireworks shows, the performances are stirring and captivating. The music is hot: International sounds such as samba percussion, salsa, tango Argentino, Peruvian and Bolivian folklore charm the audience. Animals nearby, some close enough to touch, artistic stilt walkers, comic walk acts and African braiding art complete out the exotic ranks. The smallest visitors will like the pony rides, children's painting and the zoo school mobile. And a Bengali fireworks show set to music high on the cliffs of the famed African panorama brings the evening to a stylish close.
