From 29 June until 13 July, the HAMBURG BALLET is performing 15 ballets by John Neumeier, including classics such as "Othello", "Romeo and Juliet" and "Messiah".
The ballet festival, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary, is opening with the premier of John Neumeier's "Tatjana", in which the renowned choreograph employs Alexander Pushkin's novel "Eugen Onegin". The music for the ballet was contract to a Lera Auerbach by the Hamburg State Opera; she already composed the music for John Neumeier's ballet "The Little Mermaid". At the same time, John Cranko's ballet "Onegin", dance by HAMBURG BALLET, will be performed during the Ballet Days. In addition, the world-renowned school of HAMBURG BALLET is presenting its talents. At the performance "First Steps", all classes will perform on state at the Hamburg State Operate on 30 June. From 8 to 9 July, the Dutch Dans Theater will provide insights into its skills as guest company. The Ballet Day will end with a big Nijinsky gala.
