Maritime Museum in Hamburg – A great outing for the family
Fathers and sons, but of course the female members of the family as well, will have their eyes lit up while standing in front of the numerous models assembled with patience and care. You can view a Lego model of the Queen Mary 2 here made from 780,000 Lego bricks, along with the skull of famous pirate Klaus Störtebeker who was beheaded here in the city on the Elbe. On Deck 7, there is an exhibition on the deep sea, which remains mysterious to this very day, and on Deck 8 art lovers can take in the panoramic sea paintings. The exhibition offers something for every taste and age group, and interesting guided tours are offered as well. The building itself is also worth the visit. The Kaispeicher B is ten years older than the Speicherstadt itself, and thus the oldest surviving warehouse of all.
