With the Hanseatic history of these premises, it could not be located anywhere else in Hamburg.
Even the first glance at the pictures on the wall reveals who was once a regular guest here on and off: None other than Bismarck. Today Cölln's Restaurant is the only oyster bar in Germany which is still preserved entirely in its original condition. Contrary to expectations, the restaurant's cuisine has now broadened out to influences from Asia, without throwing its centuries-old tradition overboard. Here, crispy fillet of perch appears on basmati rice with fine julienne vegetables in a lemon-herb sauce. The blend of Nordic and Far Eastern cuisine works amazingly well. For those who prefer old-fashioned cooking, there is Cölln's classic "North Sea sole à la meuniere". For lunch, the usually higher-priced Cölln's offers a low-priced set menu with several seafood dishes.
