Better a few grams of precious metal than too much of a lesser one: With this motto, and her penchant for extravagant, massive pieces of jewellery, goldsmith Hilde Leiss has set the standard for jewellery in her gallery for the last 25 years.
The artist was awarded the coveted Charles Schneider Prize in 2001 and presents her own collections and works of colleagues in one of the oldest office buildings in Hamburg: Angular gold rings by Jordi Peralta, bangles made of reinforced paper by Nel Linnsen or lush ebony and amethyst colliers by Gerda Monies. There are also hand-turned wooden objects, small statues made of glass or ceramic and textile art such as the folded clothes by Elke Walter or the geometric hat creations by Angela Wandelt.
