Yangzhou hosts many events and activities throughout the year.

The Yangzhou International Economy and Trade Festival is an annual event held each April, during a time when the city’s flowers are in full bloom and lush green plants can be found everywhere.

Another big festival held in Yangzhou is the Yangzhou Jianzhen International Half Marathon, which is named after the abbot who brought Buddhism to Japan in the Tang Dynasty. Athletes from all over the world attend the half marathon every September.

The city also organizes a bunch of cultural events, including the Yangzhou Summer Festival, the World Canal Cities Expo, the Winter Hot Spring Healthcare Festival, and the Guazhou Music Festival.
