Located in the outskirts of Yangzhou, the Museum of Tang Ruins is a good place to learn about culture during the Tang Dynasty (AD 618-907).
The museum is located near the ruins of an ancient city, one of the most well-preserved in China. The ruins include the city wall, gates, and clock towers that have been there for over one thousand years.
The collection is filled with hundreds of Tang antiques, including a building with a double-eave roof that resembles the Tang architectural style, Buddhist scriptures and stoned tablets from the Tang Dynasty.
The museum also has a memorial hall for Cui Zhiyuan, a Korean scholar who visited Yangzhou in the Tang Dynasty.
