Honacha is the family owned Restaurant which is famous for Ethnic Newari food. The origins of the family operated Restaurant date back several generations. There is no exact date on record when Honacha was started. According to Honacha family it has been serving newari food even before 1990BS (1934 AD). Krishna Lal Byanjankar who was originally from the place called Honley (Chysal) moved
in Mangal Bazar, opened a small shop to provide local food for the hungry farmers since then it has been serving Ethnic Newari Food.
Honacha is loacated at Patan, Mangalbazar in the heart of Lalitpur Durbar square. This place retains much of its original character, the interior,exterior and its menu has not changed since years. Honacha is warm and welcoming place for the lover of food.

Signature Cuisine:
Several varieties of buffalo meat are served. These are choyla, kachila, dyakula and sukuti, which are grilled meat with herbs, mincemeat mixed with spices, boiled meat in gravy and dried meat respectively. Two types of vegetables constituting potato gravy and pea gravy, or aloo kawab and kerow are also served. Most populat one is called the ‘barahs’ or ‘wohs’.
