The former site of the Wuchang Military Government uprising was built in 1908 and completed in 1910. It is the former provincial assembly building of Hubei province butis now the Memorial Hall of the 1911 Revolution.The buildings are also known as red mansions for their red colored exteriors.
The 11 buildings cover 18666.67㎡. Song Ching Ling, the leader of the 1911 Revolution, has an inscription on each gate and tablet. The main building faces south and is a two-story, western-style, brick concrete structure. The porch at the front of the gate is exquisitely designed.
The former site of the Wuchang Military Government uprising is located north of Yuemachang, and south of Snake Mountain in Wuchang. It is also a short distance from the Wuchang Railway Station,Wuhan Passenger Port and Tianhe Airport. Transportation to the site is very convenient and visitors can get there by Bus No.10, 61, 222, 401, 402 or 411.
