Located in Xinglin Bay, Jimei District, the Xiamen Yuanboyuan Expo Garden is a majestic aquatic mega-garden showcasing wonderful and characteristic gardening arts from all over China and across the world. It was opened in September, 2007, and the Sixth China International Garden and Flower Expo was held there.

The garden is built on Zhongzhoudao, Jimei District, which is the hometown of the patriotic overseas Chinese Mr. Tan Kakee. It covers a total area of 6.76 square kilometers, among which 3.03 square kilometers is land of 9 islets and 2 bylands. Due to this special terrain, it is built with a layout resembling a picture of stars surrounding the moon, thus stressing its distinctive feature of "Garden on islets and islets on the water".

The expo garden mainly includes a main exhibition island, an ecology and wetland park, a waterscape and water sports area, a spa resort island and other supportive commercial facilities.

All the exhibition gardens and areas are arranged along along the rings and axes. Seen from above, the expo garden looks like a jade necklace of islands emerging from the blue sea, presenting a breathtaking view of exquisite garden structures.
