Jila Grand Canyon is located at the Junggar Basin in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, 250 kilometers north to Fuhai county. The canyon is over 100 miles and resembles a huge horn.
The north of the canyon is high and features several colors like azurite, light yellow and scarlet. It is regarded as the largest Yardang landscape in China. The canyon used to be a seabed in ancient times, according to its wealth of seashell fossils.
You can also drive there on your off-road vehicle. It takes about two days to go there and back. Accommodation is on your own terms.
