Gudong Scenic Area is located to the east of Daxu Ancient Town in Lingchuan county and is just 26 kilometers east of Guilin. The area follows the Lijiang River and is reputed to be an “Eco-tourism Model of China.” It is also one of the major scenic sites in the Lijiang River area, as designated by the State Council, and an educational base on environmental protection for the youth in the Guangxi autonomous region.

The Scenic Area boasts waterfalls, ponds and maple trees and offers a pristine ecological environment as well as geological wonders and fresh air.

It is also richly endowed with historical relics and folklore legends; characteristics that clearly define the region.
