It is located nearby the Guilin-Yangshuo Highway and is 45km away from Guilin and 15 km away from Yangshuo. The area abounds with countryside scenery, folk customs and traditional villages.

The site can be visited by boat along the river or by foot on the area’s many footpaths. Boat rides from the lake pass villages, forests and mountains. On the cruise, visitors can see an original welcoming ceremony, sacrificial ceremony, hunting activities and singing and dancing ethnic locals. Those travelling on foot can visit the village constructions, an epitome of ethnic architectural style in northern Guangxi. The drum tower, Fengyu (wind and rain) Bridge, antiphonal singing pavilion, flower tower, long corridor and totems are physical manifestations of diverse ethnic cultures in the region.
