Qingdao International Beer Festival, the largest of its kind in Asia, started in 1991. The annual festival opens on the second weekend of August and lasts for 16 days.
Activities include the opening ceremony, visiting cherry orchards, cherry tasting, visiting people in the mountain, cherry picking competition, sightseeing and agritainment (self-service) tourism of Beizhai, folk art exhibition and performance.
China Qingdao Marine Festival, sponsored by the State Oceanic Administration and Qingdao Municipal Government and organized by the Government of Shinan District, Qingdao, is the only ocean-themed festival in China.
China Qingdao Dazeshan Grape Festival, originally called Dazeshan Grape Festival, was derived from the temple fair for the God of Wealth in Dazeshan. The Dazeshan township government of Pingdu city designated the 22nd of the seventh lunar month as Dazeshan Grape Festival.
