【Introduction】:Russian edition of National Geographic Traveler magazine (USA) summed up the results of the annual National Geographic Traveler Awards 2019. The ceremony on this occasion was held on 28 November at the President Hotel in Moscow with the participation of representatives of major tour companies, publishers, PR agencies, cultural, art and media figures, as well as other media personalities.
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Russian edition of National Geographic Traveler magazine (USA) summed up the results of the annual National Geographic Traveler Awards 2019. The ceremony on this occasion was held on 28 November at the President Hotel in Moscow with the participation of representatives of major tour companies, publishers, PR agencies, cultural, art and media figures, as well as other media personalities.
The publication annually holds a vote for the best tourist destinations among the most popular types of recreation. Winners are determined through online voting among readers of the magazine. This year the competition was held from 29 June until 31 October in 24 major categories.
According to the results of online voting, in which over 450 thousand users took part, our country became the winner of the award in the direction of “Discovery of the Year”, gaining 40% of the total number of votes cast. Armenia, Oman, Taiwan and Romania also fought for the championship in this category. The “Opening of the Year” prize was solemnly awarded to Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Russian Federation Botirjon Asadov.
Last year in the contest "National Geographic Traveler Awards" Uzbekistan took first place in the category "Gastronomic Tourism", gaining 34% of the votes of readers.
