Dec 27: Daily Briefing on Novel Coronavirus Cases in China

On Dec 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 22 new cases of confirmed infections (10 imported cases, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Anhui province; 12 indigenous cases, 7 in Liaoning province and 5 in Beijing), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 16 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 571 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Dec 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,203 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,933 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 270 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Dec 26, the National Health Commission had received reports of 86,955 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 81,987 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 334 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 900,952 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 11,954 were still under medical observation.

On Dec 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 15 new asymptomatic cases (including 11 imported cases). 8 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 6 imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Dec 26, 251 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 206 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Dec 26, 9,369 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 8,540 in Hong Kong (136 had died and 7,394 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 783 in Taiwan (7 had died and 647 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
