Dormition of the Holy Mother of God

Dormition of the Holy Mother of God is the largest and most famous Bulgarian Orthodox cathedral in Varna. The building is erected to commemorate the Russian soldiers who fell for the Liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman domination. The construction of the building is done with the help of voluntary donations. It is located in the centre of the city and exists since 30 August 1886. The basilica is three-nave and has three altars.
