As the capital of Andalusia in Spain, Seville has become one of the most prosperous metropolises in the country or even Europe since Columbia discovered the American continent. It witnessed the Ibero-American Exposition, later known as the World Expo, in 1929 and the Expo de Sevilla in 1992.
Facing the outbreak of COVID-19, Seville takes on the challenge. The 2020 Tourism Innovation Summit will be held in FIBES from November 25th to November 27th. For adapting to the current situation, participants need to conduct nucleic acid tests in order to keep the summit under tight security. The capital aims to become an icon among those who recover the tourism sector through technology, trying to redefine itself in global tourism. The summit will draw more than 200 spokespersons around the world. Portugal will be a guest of honor at this year’s summit. Spain‘s Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism will directly participate in the event which is greatly supported by the World Tourism Organization and the European Tourism Association.
