2014 National Tourism Conference Held in Beijing

The 2014 National Tourism Conference was convened in Beijing on January 6. The main task of the conference is to conscientiously implement the guiding principles of the 18th CPC National Congress, its second and third plenary sessions and the central economic work conference, review the development of the national tourist industry in 2013, and make arrangements for key tasks for the year 2014.

The conference conveyed the important speech Vice Premier Wang Yang made upon hearing the report of the Party Leadership Group (PLG) of the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA). CNTA Chairman Shao Qiwei delivered a work report. Other CNTA officials attending the conference include Vice Chairmen Wang Zhifa, Du Yili, Du Jiang; PLG member and leader of the Discipline Inspection Group Liu Jinping; and Vice Chairman Wu Wenxue.Representatives of the General Office of the State Council, the Central Organization Department of CPC Central Committee, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the National Audit Office, the Central Steering Group for the Party Mass Line Education and Practice Movement, and some other central ministries and commissions were invited to attend the meeting.

The Party Central Committee and the State Council attach great importance to the development of tourism, says Shao Qiwei in his report. Since last year General Secretary Xi Jinping has made two important speeches on the development of tourism. Li Keqiang, Zhang Dejiang, Liu Yunshan, Wang Qishan and other central leaders have also given a series of important instructions on the current and future development of the tourist industry. On 16 December 2013 Vice Premier Wang Yang listened to the work report of CNTA Party Leadership Group and gave important opinions on the work of CNTA for the year 2014 and beyond. We must and will conscientiously carry out these important instructions and opinions and perform our duty to the best of our ability.
