Watching a beautiful sunset is a relaxing way to end the day, but not everyone has that luxury during the coronavirus outbreak (especially if they live in a tight, congested city).

But the Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board is bringing their California sunset straight to your computer by livestreaming the sunset from Venice Beach every day on its website and social media channels.

The time the sun sets in Los Angeles is well known for being the inspiration behind the phrase “magic hour.” The magic hour is when the set gets to that perfect place on the horizon and casts warm, golden light everywhere the eye can see. It’s especially popular with photographers and filmmakers because this golden light basically makes everyone and everything look amazing.

And now, you can bring the magic hour into your home, no matter where you are.

“Collectively, we are on our couches, at our kitchen tables, peering out our windows and dreaming for the day we are on the other side of this pandemic. Whether a form of escapism or driving inspiration for a future trip, wanderlust is at an all-time high, and we want to bring a taste of Los Angeles to these dreamers while also providing the opportunity to learn something new,” stated Don Skeoch, chief marketing officer for Los Angeles Tourism. “So many of our museums, fitness studios, and chefs are developing incredible virtual content and we want to shine a light on their great work while also celebrating something so special in L.A. – Magic Hour.”
