Due to the current situation of covid-19 and its impact on social and cultural life in Hamburg, many cultural workers and artists have reached the limit of survival. But creativity is never isolated. Many Hamburg cultural actors have shown how they are fighting against the loss of cultural diversity in Hamburg.
No one came - Hamburg in solidarity
Everyone was on the subject of "keinerkommt". The MenscHHamburg e.V. society will host the nicht-festival on 12 May 2020 to support private theatres, music stages, the Hamburg film industry and the Hamburg performance club culture. "Crazy times require crazy ideas so as to better encounter the crisis," said Lars Meier, founder of the event, director of the MenscHHamburg e.V. society and general manager of Gute Leude Fabrik. "So we organized this nonexistent festival with artists who didn't come and used creativity and humor to raise money." On social media, the stars who took part in the event said they would not appear and asked for donations. A ticket costs 22 euros to support Hamburg's cultural scene.
Hamburg cultural and creative association
The Hamburg cultural and creative association also hopes to support the cultural and creative economy with advice and action during these difficult times. Through a hotline, it advises the self-employed and artists on issues related to the assistance programmes provided by the federal government, municipalities and royalty collection associations. It also provides an overview of the novel coronavirus's current impact on the cultural and creative economy. Although there are no events on the calendar, the Hamburg cultural and creative society offers online services such as digital lunches and various consultations.
”Art never stops”
Guided by the motto "art never stops", the Hamburgische Kulturstiftung (Hamburgische Kulturstiftung) is setting up a fund with other foundations. The aim is to raise donations to help Hamburg's freelance artists. First, young freelance artists should get real help. With the help of foundations, businesses and individuals, more than 400,000 euro has been raised. Gesa Engelschall, general manager of the Hamburg cultural foundation, said: "Even if people stay at home, they have to find ways to express themselves in art! At this deeply troubling time, we need culture more than ever!”
Peace - a symphony orchestra in your living room
Concert halls across Europe have to close. In a joint effort by a group of European concert halls (ECHO), concert halls are making their archives public. Every night there is a new live recording from a concert hall in Europe. The ebeil concert hall in Hamburg also took part in the event and enriched the # elphiathome activity with a home tour (ZuHausfuhrungen) -- a visit to a virtual concert hall -- and a video version of a large concert at the ebeil concert hall.
We Stream -- the stream media of the Hamburg show club
As people around the world are quarantined at home following the closure of performance clubs affected by the outbreak, the show club has come together to offer a solution: watch the biggest digital show at home. On Saturday, April 4, 2020, streaming video of the empty Hamburg show kicked off the United We Stream event in Hamburg. In the future, on the web site www.unitedwestream.hamburg you can see from various Club Hamburg performance of streaming media, including the Anderswelt, Astra Stube, Docks/Prinzenbar, Freundlich + Kompetent, Fundbaeuro, Gangeviertel, Golden Pudel Club, Hafenklang, devoted to Brody, Knust, Mojo Club, Molotow, Monkeys Club, Nochtspeicher/Nochtwache, PAL, Stellwerk, MS Stubnitz, Sudpol, Uebel & Gefahrlich, Waagenbau and other Hamburg performance clubs.
S. o. s. -- save our voices
The Clubkombinat association and the Hamburg club foundation organized a major donation campaign under the slogan "s. o. s. -- Save our Sounds" to save the clubs and organizers of musical performances in Hamburg. The funds were distributed for the first time to the agencies on 21 March 2020. The second stage of fundraising and application will be completed by the end of April. The event combines live and unattended concerts with DJ Sets from different Hamburg performance clubs and performance facilities.
Support local musicians - # support burger music
The RockCity Hamburg association is a pioneer and community of musicians in Hamburg. As a nonprofit association, it works every day in every way for the musicians of Hamburg. Now it has launched a major fundraising drive, which will become an unprofitable honor fund. All donations raised will go quickly and effectively to Hamburg musicians caught up in the covid-19 crisis.

Help from the municipal government
The Hamburg municipal government has provided large-scale assistance to the cultural and creative economy. In addition to the federal government's "emergency assistance to micro-entrepreneurs and self-employed people during covid-19," more assistance could be requested at the Hamburg investment promotion bank (IFB). In addition, the IFB will be able to use a total of 50 million euros in loans to enable cultural enterprises to receive urgently needed liquidity assistance alongside emergency assistance. The cultural media authority has established a 25 million-euro package of cultural assistance specifically for cultural needs. Cultural facilities such as private theatres or music clubs may receive this assistance. In addition, there may be different tax aid packages and bills and deferred payments for fees and rents. www.hilfsmassnahmen
