【Introduction】:On April 22, the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) held a meeting with Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), in which the two parties reached a consensus on deepening cooperation, jointly holding international conferences, and promoting tourism recovery in the post-epidemic era.
On April 22, the World Tourism Cities Federation (WTCF) held a meeting with Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), in which the two parties reached a consensus on deepening cooperation, jointly holding international conferences, and promoting tourism recovery in the post-epidemic era.
Present at the meeting were the Director-General of Liaison and Events Dept of WTCF Chen Bo and the Deputy Secretary-General of SCO Sherali Jonon.
Sherali Jonon noted that the pandemic has dealt a heavy blow to global tourism and that mutual cooperation is of great significance as the virus is yet to be put under complete control. Chen Bo shared his perspective, exchanged ideas and reached a common ground with Sherali Jonon on specific matters of cooperation. The conventions jointly hosted by the two organizations will provide an interactive platform of information exchange and cooperation for their member states and cities, thus making necessary preparations for the sector’s revival after the pandemic .
Sherali Jonon spoke highly of the influence and professionalism of WTCF in tourism as an authoritative international organization and platform, and he praised the mutual cooperation experienced throughout the years. He stressed that SCO and he himself are looking forward to a deeper and more comprehensive collaboration with WTCF in the future. Both parties remarked that they would continuously enhance the influence of the two organizations on a global level, jointly promote friendly exchanges and cooperation among Belt and Road cities, and vigorously enhance the recovery and development of cultural tourism as the epidemic subsides.
