The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented challenge to the development of world tourism, but also a historical opportunity for iteration and renewal. It has become a topic of common concern for the tourism community to explore the trends and strategies for the revitalization and development of world tourism under the influence of the COVID-19 pandemic, and to share the experience of relevant countries in fighting against the pandemic and realizing the recovery and development of tourism.

The organizer of the Summit has invited the heads of some international organizations, tourism ministers, mayors of tourism cities and senior executives of well-known international tourism groups to discuss such hot issues as the recovery and revitalization of world tourism, cooperation between cities, intelligent transformation, mode innovation and development trends from a global perspective, and will present their insights and observations to the honored guests in a special series of videos.

Tourism industry is a comprehensive economic system characterized by openness, development and inclusiveness. Influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic, short-distance, decentralized, low-density and customized tourism is becoming very popular. The pace of integrated development of tourism and culture, sports, education, science and technology, agriculture and medical related industries has been further accelerated, and world tourism has entered a new cycle of reform and innovation.

This session will discuss and showcase the good practices about the innovative initiatives of tourism cities and institutions from different part of the world and explore how tourism cities can better promote and apply these new experiences, accelerate the innovation and industrial integration of world tourism, and actively promote the iterative renewal of world tourism after the pandemic.

Science and technology are not only a decisive force in the fight against COVID-19, but also a key measure to improve the quality of tourism cities. Making full use of modern science and technology such as big data, Internet and intelligence to accelerate the digital transformation of traditional tourism is becoming a new direction for the development of world tourism cities.

This Session will explore and showcase the experience and measures of how the world's major tourism cities and tourism institutions promote the smart tourism and smart city building, jointly study how to better apply new technology, new methods and new models to improve the efficiency of tourism city service and management, provide tourists with more secure, more convenient and higher quality tourism experience.
