Merlion Park

Located by the Singapore River, Merlion Park is both a symbol of the fact that Singapore developed from a small fishing village and a national landmark in the country. Its design inspiration comes from a legend in Sejarah Melayu: in the 11th century, Prince Sang Nila Utama of Sumatra saw a lion when he toured Singapura. The lion head of the merlion represents the lion, while the fish tail symbolizes the ancient city Temasek (meaning “ocean” in Javanese).

Phuket Island

Situated in the Andaman Sea which is off the western coast of the Malay Peninsula in the south of Thailand, Phuket Island is the largest island and the smallest prefecture in Thailand. It is reputed as “A Pearl at the Andaman Sea” for its attractive sceneries and abundant tourism resources.

Racha Island

Beautiful sceneries, clear seawater, rich marine life, and original ecological environment on the island have attracted numerous travelers from China. Due to its small size, the island does not have so many scenic spots. However, you can see animals such as buffalos and lizards. You can also swim from the beach side to the middle of the sea for diving in the pellucid water. That is why Racha Island is famous for leisure.

In Penang State where multi-races and multi-cultures have been long integrated, you may feel as if having been in another era and country if you tour different scenic spots. Penang State has become an important tourism city in Southeast Asia.

Penang Museum

Built in 1821, this museum with the architectural style of the South Pacific was a school. At its entrance are the original cable cars of the Penang Hill. In the museum are some antiques, legacies that display cultures and customs of different ethnics, and articles of the World War II such as currencies issued by the Japanese Colonial Government, documents of the Japanese army and diplomas of Japanese schools. You can go to its nearby art gallery to appreciate different art styles. Outside the museum are cable cars of Bukit Bendera and the official vehicle of the then governor during the colonial period. There are several concave marks on the vehicle. It is said that these marks are left by shooting, but it is difficult to be authenticated.
