WTCF sponsored 2017 International Forum on Chinese Outbound Tourism

In January 2017, WTCF and Ivy Alliance Tourism Consulting co-hosted the 2017 International Forum on Chinese Outbound Tourism (IFCOT). About 200 guests including diplomatic officials of foreign embassies, top executives of tourism organizations, representatives from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and other international organizations, member representatives of WTCF, and China-based leading outbound tour operators attended the forum.

WTCF exclusively co-hosted ITB Berlin 2017

In March 2017, as the co-host of ITB Berlin 2017, WTCF led a delegation to attend ITB Berlin and hosted a forum with the theme of “World Tourism Economy Trends 2017 & Chinese Outbound Tourism”. Communication and cooperation between WTCF and its European members were deepened and consolidated, and the awareness and influence of WTCF in the international tourism industry increased.

WTCF and the SCO signed a cooperation agreement

In May 2017, WTCF signed a cooperation framework agreement between WTCF Secretariat and SCO Secretariat with SCO in Beijing. They will actively cooperate to achieve the mutual benefits, exchanges and cooperation between SCO and tourism cities along the Silk Road economic belt.

WTCF launched Edinburgh “China Champions Learning Journey” Training Program

In May 2017, the Edinburgh “China Champions Learning Journey” Training Program was launched by WTCF and city member Edinburgh. The training program, initiated by Edinburgh Tourism Action Group (ETAG), was jointly hosted by WTCF and the city member for the first time. A total of 14 people from ETAG, Edinburgh’s hotel, marketing and other related tourism departments participated in the training program.

WTCF hosted the 5th China International Cruise Summit

In June 2017, the 5th China International Cruise Summit kicked off in Qingdao. The summit was jointly hosted by Asia Cruise Terminal Association, the Committee of Cruise Industry of WTCF, Shanghai International Cruise Economic Research Center, and supported by former Qingdao Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, Qingdao International Cruise Port Authority, Qingdao Shibei Municipal Government, CCPIT Qingdao Sub-Council, and Qingdao Port Group Corporation. The second session of the first Council Meeting of the Committee of Cruise Industry of WTCF was held before the opening ceremony of the summit. With over 100 members, the Committee of Cruise Industry of WTCF became one of the most influential international cruise organizations in China.

WTCF attended Global Tourism Economy Forum Macao 2017 and hosted the “Region and City Collaboration” Panel Discussion

In October 2017, Global Tourism Economy Forum Macao 2017 was held in Macao. As the strategic partner, WTCF organized the “Region and City Collaboration” Panel Discussion with the discussion topic of “Regional Collaboration - World Cities Perspective”. Topics including “City Cluster and Tourism Development”, “The Belt and Road Initiative and Tourism Cooperation”, “Tourism Collaboration in the World’s Famous Bay Areas”, “How Would the City Drive for Sustainable Tourism” and other issues about city development and cooperation were discussed.

WTCF participated in WTM 2017 and hosted the “China Tourism Development Forum”

In November 2017, WTM 2017 kicked off in ExCeL, London. WTCF was invited to attend the event and hosted the “China Tourism Development Forum”. At the event, the status quo and features of Chinese outbound tourism markets were analyzed, as well as the change and development of travel modes of Chinese tourists, and the features, habits and preference of Chinese outbound tourists.
