WTCF shared research results with global tourism industry professionals

In March 2019, ITB Berlin 2019 was held in Germany, Berlin. WTCF introduced its annual research reports during the themed meeting “Presentation of WTCF Publications on China Outbound Tourist Consumption and World Tourism Economic Trends”, which included Report on World Tourism Economy Trends (2019), co-edited by WTCF and Tourism Research Center, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and the Market Research Report on Chinese Outbound Tourist (City) Consumption (2017-2018) with world’s leading market research institute, Ipsos.

WTCF hosted panel discussion and invited guests to share their practical marketing experience

At ITB Berlin 2019, WTCF hosted the themed panel discussion with the topic of “How To Market Your Destination’s Products And Services To Chinese Outbound Tourists?”. The seminar discussed the ways on how to combine the core values of destinations with Chinese social media to create exponentially disseminating effects against the sprouting number of China’s online celebrities and fast-growing social app backdrop. Alice He, Chinese Social Media Manager, Edinburgh Tourism Action Group; Roger Qiu, General Manager of EMEA Destination Marketing, Ctrip; Manuel Viñuelas, International Promotion & Mice, Sevilla Tourism; and Wolfgang Arlt, Director, COTRI China Outbound Tourism Research Institute, and WTCF expert, were invited to attend the forum.

WTCF and West Africa Tourism Organization signed contract

In April 2019, during the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, WTCF and the West Africa Tourism Organization (WATO) signed a contract, and both parties will push forward the win-win mechanism of the Belt and Road tourism destination cooperation, set up the friendly China-African non-governmental cooperation platform, and establish the panoramic strategic partnership between the two organizations. The cooperation framework agreement signed by WTCF and the WATO has been placed on the outcome list of the Second Forum.

WTCF participated in the Beijing Expo 2019 and promoted members' tourism resources

International Horticultural Exhibition 2019 Beijing is being held in Yanqing, Beijing from April 29 to October 7, 2019. As one of the invited international organizations, WTCF is staying for the entire event. During Beijing Expo 2019, WTCF provides complimentary exhibitions and negotiation areas for its members, which can be used for publicity, promotion, consultations and sales of tourism products. In addition, WTCF also holds a variety of additional tourism trade fairs and special promotion meetings, and many members have joined the activities at the expo.

WTCF Investment & Financing Conference kicked off in Beijing

In May 2019, the WTCF Investment & Financing Conference, a special tourism activity of China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) was held. The event was hosted by WTCF, managed by the Committee of Investment of WTCF and supported by Beijing Municipal Culture and Tourism Bureau, Tianjin Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and Hebei Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism. More than 200 representatives attended the meeting, including representatives from Argentina, Dominica, Uzbekistan, Morocco, Israel, Seychelles, Cambodia, China and SCO, as well as project representatives from enterprises and investment funds domestic and abroad.

The 7th China International Cruise Summit and Council Meeting of Committee of Cruise Industry of WTCF kicked off in Qingdao

In June 2019, the 7th China International Cruise Summit kicked off in Qingdao. The summit this year is co-sponsored by the Committee of Cruise Industry of WTCF and Asia Cruise Terminal Association (ACTA), and supported by Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Qingdao Port Group Corporation and other institutions. Themed on ‘Promote the high-quality development of Chinese cruise tourism industry’, the summit aimed to build a platform for the communication and interaction among the field of Asian cruise industry. The summit included tourism exhibition fair, round table meeting, council meeting, opening ceremony and other sections, which has attracted 600 guests from over 20 countries such as the United States, Germany, Italy, Norway, Russia, Singapore, and the Philippines.

2019 SCO Day & SCO Member States – The Eight wonders Exhibition Tour kicked off in Beijing

2019 SCO Day & SCO Member States – The Eight wonders Exhibition Tour was held in Beijing in June 2019. Sponsored by SCO Secretariat, the event aims to summarise the activities SCO has held in the past year, express appreciation for all social circles’ support and assistance to the organisation, and promote the multi-faceted cooperation. Vladimir Norov, SCO Secretary-General, Shen Yueyue, vice-chairperson of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, and Song Yu, Secretary-General of WTCF attended the event and made speeches.

“Discover Moscow Dialogue on Tourism Development” was held in Beijing

In June 2019, the delegation of the Moscow City Tourism Committee held the“Discover Moscow Dialogue on Tourism Development” at the CIFTIS and BITE 2019. The theme of the event was "Discover Moscow", including a thematic discussion on "Event Tourism Promotes Destination Tourism Development" and "Exploring Moscow" keynote speech and other sections. Екатерина Проничева, President of the Moscow City Tourism Committee gave a speech. Li Baochun, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of WTCF, attended the event and delivered a speech.
