The Elbphilharmonie Concert Hall in Hamburg has been attracting an increasing number of visitors since it opened in 2017, while Speicherstadt (Warehouse City), a UNESCO world heritage site, has long been a popular attraction in Hamburg.

The warehouses which used to store coffee beans, spices and tea have been transformed into Internet-famous scenic attractions, along with the nearby Newport City. The Hamburg Tourismus GmbH welcomes you to wander Speicherstadt, and taste special food and drinks. Come and check it out!

Breakfast

A good breakfast is a must before a long day of walking, especially if it involves taking great photos. What place can be better than a cafe called "Schönes Leben" (Beautiful Life) to kickstart the day? Here, you can enjoy the most important meal of the day from a variety of options. The cafe is located in the center of Speicherstadt, with nice buildings, and a bustling and dazzling scene with people.

Coffee

After that, let's walk to two hot locations for photo shoots. Coffee and tea lovers will also be pleased, as they will experience more than just visual enjoyment. Speicherstadt Coffee Roastery sits in the Port of Hamburg — Germany's gateway to the world in a true sense. The coffee here is freshly roasted daily using a gentle drum roasting process. A visit to the adjoining factory shop is not to be missed — food lovers are sure to get good value for money when shopping here. To learn more about coffee, including tasting different coffees, you can find them a block away at the Kaffeemuseum Burg (Hamburg Coffee Museum).

Coffee or Tea

In Hamburg, coffee or tea is a matter of faith. The answer may be found at our next stop, Hamburger Wasserschloss (the Water Castle in Hamburg). The former office and warehouse is one of the most photographed locations on Hamburg's postcards. Here, you'll find over 250 unique tea products, as well as a wonderful terrace for tea drinking and dining. Therefore, Hamburg Water Castle is a must-see for all tea lovers.

Lunch and Others

From the Water Castle, we continue on to Fleetschlösschen. It's time for lunch.

Here, Daniel Wischer serves up fish specialties to hungry diners. Delicious fish soup and homemade brown bread are perfect for lunch. Our stroll through the UNESCO world heritage site is far from over.

Smell it, taste it, and touch it. At the spice museum called Gewürzmuseum Spicy's, in an old Hamburg warehouse, visitors can learn about spice kingdoms around the world, from local kitchen sauces to exotic spices.

For an aperitif to kickstart a beautiful evening, we suggest a walk to Port New Town. There is Kinfelts Kitchen & Wine — the restaurant's wine bar offers more than 350 varieties of wine. With the help of Sommelier Maximilian Wilm, everyone can find their favorite wine. The evening menu features about a dozen seasonal dishes, crafted by Chef Kirill Kinfelt.

In Port New Town, there is another not-so-secret culinary mecca, the stylish two-Michelin-starred Bianc. The interior alone is a real feast for the eyes, combining elegant modernity with a relaxing atmosphere. Chef Matteo Ferrantino's dishes are Mediterranean cuisine of the highest order.

Plainness is the truest form of beauty. Those who like to keep it simple and casual can find a good Mediterranean cuisine alternative at the trendy restaurant cantinetta and the bar of the Ameron Hamburg Hotel. It serves Italian specialties and offers a unique view of the Brooksfleet River.

If you want an evening drink, just stop by the bar of cantinetta. In the tradition of Speicherstadt, coffee and rum take center stage in the former stock exchange building — served in cocktail drinks, goblets or straight up.
