The forum, themed "International Communication Boosts High-Quality Development of Culture and Tourism", explored how tourist destinations can innovate international communication methods and enhance their communication effectiveness to promote the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industries.
Li Baochun, Executive Deputy Secretary-General of WTCF, and Dr. Wen Si, an expert on international relations delivered the opening speeches respectively. Li emphasized the importance of international communication in the modern tourism industry and proposed three suggestions: first, to innovate communication methods and utilize new media and short video platforms to increase cities' exposure; second, to build city brands and enhance tourist cities' cultural images and attractiveness; third, to promote the integration of communication and technologies for the high-quality development of tourism. Dr. Wen highlighted that through strategic marketing and digital platforms, tourist destinations can showcase their unique attractions and cultures to the world, sparking the curiosity of potential tourists and their desire to travel. She also mentioned that China, with its rich cultural and historical resources, has become one of the major global tourist destinations through international exchanges and cooperation.
The forum consisted of two panel discussions, focusing respectively on "High-Quality Development of Culture and Tourism Driven by International Communication" and "Exploration of Practices for Innovation and High-Quality Development of Mini Dramas". The participating experts discussed how international communication can empower cultural and tourism development, and analyzed the current status and future trends of mini dramas. They stated that new communication forms like mini dramas play significant roles in international communication, showing strong growth potential in both Chinese and international markets, and are important means to promote Chinese culture within the international community.
During the Meeting for Committee of Media Organizations, representatives or media outlets, experts and other academicians shared their experiences in the disciplines of international communication as well as integration of culture and tourism. The participants unanimously agreed that strengthening international communication cooperation can better present the diverse charm of the tourist cities in China and attract more international tourists to this country.
The successful conclusion of the forum and the meeting has provided valuable experiences and insights for the international communication of the global cultural and tourism industry, as in-depth discussions yielded remarkable results.
