Homeworking agency InteleTravel has reported a bounceback in sales in recent weeks, following a dip as a result of the Iran war.
President James Ferrera said the expanding group had been trading 50% up this year on 2025 before the war, but growth had dropped to just 20% ahead due to the conflict in the Middle East.
Speaking at the agency’s annual Partner Appreciation evening in London, Ferrera said demand had picked up in recent weeks and was now 33% ahead, and that he hoped it would continue to recover to levels it was seeing at the start of the year.
UK managing director Trisha Handley-Hughes added: “We took a dip in sales but we are now seeing it bounce back. We are now trading at 33% ahead compared to last year and we’re up 151% in Ireland. Ireland is on fire for us. I don’t think there are many businesses that can boast our growth.”
Handley-Hughes said the company was investing in its team and in technology to support its expansion.
“We are expanding our team, we have unveiled a new content concierge for social media, content checking, inserting images into quotes, etc. We have new chatbot, InteleJoe, which is reducing intervention.
“This leaves our contact team to focus on the more complex calls. We are not replacing humans – we are saving time for our advisors and helping to streamline the booking process for them.”
InteleTravel says it now has 44,000 advisors in the UK and 2,000 in Ireland.
Ferrera is now looking ahead to launching in Germany in early 2027, which he said would be the company’s “beachhead into the EU”.
“We expect to launch there in early 2027 and then into other German-speaking countries, such as Austria, initially,” he said.
InteleTravel is also close to acquiring a business in Canada to allow it to operate there.
“We have tried a number of times there. The new model is that we work with established partners on the operational side to allow us to get up and running quickly – otherwise it could take forever,” Ferrara said.
“So far, it’s not fully materialised. We had two that didn’t work out but we are now in talks with a third and hope to be operating there by next year.”
He added that plans to operate in the UAE were merely paused due to the Iran conflict, with hopes the launch could still happen this year.
“We’re all ready. We had planned to launch 11 weeks ago on the Monday, and then the war started on the Saturday. So we’re all good to go as soon as we can,” he said.
