For the seventh consecutive year, the "Illuminate SF Festival of Light" came as promised. From Thanksgiving to New Year, San Francisco will be lit by 40 permanent and temporary light art installations. The Christmas tree and holiday decorations are not the only highlights of this holiday season. We have carefully selected 12 installations to let you experience this wonderful light art journey.

Day for Night

The “Day for Night” of Jim Campbell in 2018 covers 130 feet of the top of the Salesforce building, making it the tallest public art installation in the United States. This is a huge and diverse light artwork, consisting of 11,000 lights and video screens, showing everyday scenes of San Francisco city life all night. Images on the top of the Salesforce building can be seen from anywhere in San Francisco.

Best viewing location: The “Day for Night” is hailed as the tallest public art installation in the United States and can be viewed almost anywhere in San Francisco.

Go west, turn right on Mission St. to Second St., then turn left onto Jessie St., and continue to the junction of Jessie St. h and Annie St.
