2016 International Hotel Industry Conference & Third Silk Road Food Festival Will Be Held in Sanya City of Hainan Province

2016 International Hotel Industry Conference & Third Silk Road Food Festival will be held in the city of Sanya, in Hainan Province. More than 2,000 representatives will attend the events to discuss strategies for developing the Chinese hotel industry under the background of new economy. Participants include heads of related departments and international industrial organizations, specialists and scholars, presidents of hotel & restaurant corporations, senior executives, domestic and international media and so on. The events will be sponsored by China Hotel Association, Commerce Department of Hainan Province, Sanya Municipal People's Government, China Council For The Promotion of International Trade Hainan (CCPIT Hainan) and Overseas Chinese Federation of Hainan Province, co-organized by Cultural Festival Office, Food Festival Office and Hotel & Restaurant Industry Association of Hainan Province, and supported by International Hotel & Restaurant Association and Asia Hotel Industry Association.

Ping Anwen, Vice President of China Hotel Association said that the event will be divided into seven sections including Meeting of International Hotel Industry, Paralleled Forum, Cross-border Salon, Hainan Green Products Exhibition, Silk Road Specialty Cuisines Exhibition, Discussion and Docking of Industry, and International Brands List.

She indicated that this Conference will particularly enhance the international influence of the Chinese hotel industry. With the implementation of the “One Belt and One Road,” the number of overseas tourists reaches 117 million and more and more foreign capital and brands begin to put their focus on Chinese market. They will invite the presidents of International Hotel &Restaurant Association, Asia Hotel Industry Association and representatives of international organizations from South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, Nepal, Indonesia, Norway and other countries to communicate on important matters.

The event will also promote the green development of the hotel industry. Green hotels' specific labels will be created by OTA platform online. The labels will be a priority, as the green hotels will be recommended first, while they will cooperate with more than 1,000 hotels to take actions to guide green consumption offline.

The events will enhance the innovational development of the specialty catering of “One Belt and One Road.” The Third Silk Road Food Festival will also be held during the conference. As one of the sponsors, Hainan will hold a series of food events to extend and promote brands and cooperation. Hundreds of thousands international tourists and local citizens are expected to participate in the event.
