Great Plains Conservation will open a new tented camp, Mara Nyika, in the Masai Mara in August. Situated on the Naboisho Conservancy, Mara Nyika will comprise four tents, accommodating just eight guests total.
The camp has been built in the tree tops with walkways connecting each tent. A great camp for the more adventurous traveler, Mara Nyika will have a treehouse feel under canvas while maintaining a Great Plains ethos of conservation and low-impact tourism.
Its prime location on the Naboisho Conservancy enables guests to experience an incredible 50,000-acre conservation area. Activities at the camp include early morning, late-afternoon and nighttime game drives in an open 44 vehicle as well as the option of getting to know more about the local Masai community.
Through conservation fees, a stay at Mara Nyika supports the local community and around 500 Masai families with a sustainable livelihood.
Rates start from $1,735 per person sharing. For more information, visit https://greatplainsconservation.com/.
