Selfies, and the instinct to take them in the most creative ways possible, may eventually become as antiquated as Polaroids and Fotomats. The Museum of Selfies, opening in the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas on Oct. 25, anticipates that day with a playful look back at the history of the selfie while providing dynamic opportunities to experiment with the art form.

The museum -- a Vegas outpost of the original attraction that opened last year in Hollywood, Calif. -- is a family-friendly attraction with artistic backdrops ready for enhanced photos. They include a two-sided illusion Bathroom Selfie, an Emoji Pool (actually a pit filled with emoji balls) and the "David" Accident, in which a Michelangelo work of some repute appears to be destroyed in the making of a selfie.

Museumgoers can capture Instagram-worthy photos and perhaps further their understanding of the cultural phenomenon.

"We are so excited to expand the Museum of Selfie brand to Las Vegas," said Kate Kutepova, co-founder of Museum of Selfies. "The iconic Las Vegas Strip is so Instagramable in itself, we can't think of a better place to debut our next installment."

Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and from 10 a.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays. Tickets start at $17 for children and $23 for adults.
