Machupicchu

Machupicchu, located 112.5 kilometers northeast of the city of Cusco, with a height of 2350 meters above sea level. It is part of a Historical and Natural Sanctuary, it was discovered in 1911, considered a masterpiece of art, urban planning, architecture and engineering of the Inca Civilization with a well-planned distribution of functions within the space, the control of the territory and the social organization, productive, religious and administrative. The monuments and their historical characteristics are immersed in a spectacular mountainous landscape of exceptional beauty that shows a harmonious and aesthetic relationship between human culture and nature.

In 1983, UNESCO included Machupicchu in its "World Heritage" list, then in 2007 it was declared one of the Seven New Wonders of the World, and it is considered each year as the best Cultural Destination and natural of the World.

Machupicchu, is located in the middle of one of the most imposing ecosystems, its environment is considered among the most amazing on the planet. Surrounded by mountains these serve as home to numerous species of flora and fauna, the environment also houses one of the most amazing butterfly collections on the planet.

There is a town that is a prelude to Machupicchu, whose name is Machupicchu town, it is small and cozy, there you can find restaurants, hotels, from basic accommodations to 5-star hotels, ATMs, bank offices, pharmacies, medical care, police station, public telephones, internet cafes, souvenir shops, among other services.

On the other hand, those who visit Machupicchu Pueblo are fascinated with its peculiar beauty, it also has various tourist attractions such as: the thermal baths, waterfalls of the Mándor, Aguas Calientes and Alcamayo rivers, walks to the Putucusi mountain, carved stone circuit, butterfly and orchid conservation and interpretation center, site museums, cinema, sports venues, as well as an imposing theater where culture is cultivated and preserved through performances of dance, theater and music.
