Chinese Yam in Jiaozuo

The city of Jiaozuo, Henan province, is home to the four famous Chinese Yams, namely the Huai Chinese Yam, Huai Rehmannia, Achyranthes Bidentata, and Huai Chrysanthemum. Li Shizhen, a famous medical scientist of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), had said that the four famous Chinese Yams in Jiaozuo should rank the top among all of the Chinese Yam species. Chinese Yam is a kind of superior nutraceutical, with functions of replenishing blood, nourishing the stomach, tonifying the kidneys, and removing coldness in the body.
