Shameen Island is an exotic and beautiful place with profound historical connotations. It is 900 meters long from east to west and 300 meters wide from south to north, thus making it a good place for strolling. In the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, Shameen Island served as a tourist site and a key port for both domestic and international trade. After the Opium War, Shameen Island became the concession of Britain and France in 1861.

As with some small cities in Europe, Shameen Island boasts cafes, restaurants, and bars by the roadside. Additionally, small elegant tables and chairs are set on the sidewalk.
