The original Dagoba of Thuparama is the earliest pagoda in ancient Sri Lanka but was then ruined. The existing Thuparama was the rebuilt one in the mid-19th century, which had changed its original shape to a more solemn one that looks like an overturned bell. There are several stone pillars standing around as if they’re describing the history of the unique dagoba.
