Chongqing has three commercial airports: Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, Chongqing Wanzhou Wuqiao Airport, and Chongqing Qianjiang Wulingshan Airport. In 2015, Chongqing’s Jiangbei International Airport handled over 32 million passengers, and is theninth busiest airport nationwide, in terms of passenger traffic. Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 serving international flights, and Terminal 2 serving domestic flights.A third terminal, Terminal 3A and an additional runway are under construction and is scheduled to be completed by 2016.Chongqing area had an airport located in White City Station area (military airport), before the completion of the Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport, flights in and out of Chongqing would land there. In addition, during the Second Sino-Japanese War, Chongqing had temporary military airports; Chongqing Guangyangba Airport, Zhongba Airport, and Coral Reefry Airport.
The airport offers 15 minutes free parking, outdoor parking costs 5 yuan for the first hour, then 2 yuan/half hour thereafter, indoor parking costs 7 yuan per hour, and 2 yuan/half hour thereafter.
Airport shuttle bus
Airport buses linking Jiangbei International Airport to the city are easily accessible and depart every half hour. The first bus that departs for Jiangbei Airport from Shangqingsi station in Yuzhong District is at 5:30 AM, departure time from the terminal begins 8:30 AM and ends with the last flight. Ticketing offices are located in front of Gate 3 and 6 in Terminal two on the first level. A one-way ticket costs 15 yuan.
Chongqing Airport has three taxi stations, respectively, in the first floor of the former domestic terminal T2A, T2B and Terminal 1. You can see next to a taxi station, there is reference price of the taxi service, marked with the number of kilometers around the main city during the day, and night price. In addition, the airport staff also said that if the international terminal passengers arriving late at night could not find a taxi, one can ask the security for help calling in a taxi.
Chongqing Airport transfer center for Long-Distance Coaches is located on the first floor between T2A and T2B, the transfer center is offers bus services to nearby cities in Sichuan and Guizhou Province, as well as locations in the suburban areas of Chongqing.
Shuttle bus arrives at Gate 4, Gate 7, International terminal is on the right side. Shuttle bus operating hours are from 7 am to the end of the last flight, with every 20 minutes intervals.
Chongqing Rail Transit
Currently, Line 3 of the Chongqing Metro links Jiangbei International Airport terminal 2to the city center, via. Lianglukou Station, covering a distance of 60km. The trip takes about 50 minutes one way and costs 7 yuan.
