Chinese Youth Team Won Championship in China-U.S. Youth Golf Team Contest

On December 22, local time in the United States, "2019 China-U.S. Junior Golf Team Contest" sponsored by China Golf Association and supported by Uni Core Communication ended two days game of Orange Country National Club in Orlando, USA. In the end, Chinese Youth Team won the team championship with a total score of 879 (+15), and American Youth Team won the team runner-up with a total score of 931 (+67). After this year's China-Ireland, China-Japan youth team confrontation; Chinese Youth Team won the championship in a foreign country for the third time.

The China-US Team Tournament is one of the stops to join the local Hurricane Youth Tour in the United States, generating individual and team championships in each group. The team championship is determined by comparing the best scores of six of the two rounds of our nine athletes' team results with the six best of the two rounds of the nine athletes selected by the United States. There are 5 groups in the individual competition, and Chinese youth team participates in 4 groups.

In terms of men’s individual, Wang Xinxing continued the good feel of the first day, and finally won the men's 16-18 age group championship with a total score of 140 (-4); in the men's 14-15 age group, our team athletes won the first and second places. Gu Jianing scored 148 (+4), Liu Enhua 149 (+5), and Bai Xiangyun 150 (+6).

In terms of women's individual, in 14-18 age group, Sun Jiaze led two consecutive rounds, and finally won the championship with a total score of 141 (-3), Cheng Di ranked eighth with a total score of 159 (+15); the women's U13 age group, with a wrist injury, Ni Zixin reversed the Icelandic teenager's leading by one stroke to win the championship. Zheng Hanyu continued to maintain the third position to end the game and Luo Weiran finished sixth.

The weather in Orlando is very changeable. The first day of the game was very windy, and the second day continued to rain. Both rounds of the game were played in bad weather. Athletes completed the goals set before the game and finally achieved the individual championships and team championships of the four participating groups, and won a double harvest of spirit and performance.

The China-US team tournament has received strong support from the US Hurricane Junior Golf Tour and Eagle Dream Golf Academy. Looking back at the game, both Chinese team and American team have shown a team spirit that is not afraid of difficulties and the courage to work hard. Although there was only a few days to stay together, the small players on both sides have gained a rare friendship.

The China-U.S. Junior Golf Team Contest and the China-Ireland, China-Japan Junior Golf Team Contest successfully held recently both are high-level international youth tournaments organized by China Golf Association providing a high-level competitive platform for Chinese young golfers.
