【Introduction】:Turisme de Barcelona: stop the pace for a moment to get started

The COVID-19 has spread around the world, and all countries have launched prevention and control work. Barcelona is with you in these difficult times. Stop the pace for a moment to get started better in the future.

Turisme de Barcelona has launched an online campaign with the aim of raising Barcelona’s profile as a destination. The campaign is in five languages and changes the iconic #VisitBarcelona to #BarcelonaVisitsYou, meaning that, this time, Barcelona will be visiting its followers to keep them company, make their self-isolation more bearable and show them all the treasures that await them when they are able to travel again.

The strategy of the #Barcelonavisitsyou campaign has a threefold aim: to help, inspire and disseminate. To help by providing a direct communication channel allowing the entire sector to connect with the end consumer; to inspire by bringing Barcelona and it culture to people’s homes; and to disseminate by acting as a platform for institutional messages on our websites.

The campaign is the result of an exercise in joint responsibility of the entire tourism sector in Barcelona, which has ceased its activities to protect the health of the population. Nevertheless, it has been working from the very outset to ensure that activities can resume more efficiently, with a greater capacity, and stronger than ever when the crisis is over, to attract responsible, quality tourism.

The campaign is aimed at the main outbound markets and is in five languages (Chinese, English, French, Spanish and Catalan): https://youtu.be/dEMCPipj1RU. Turisme de Barcelona’s social networks – Facebook, Twitter, Youtube and Instagram – have also added the hashtags #BarcelonaVisitsYou, #VisitBarcelonaFromHome and #Stayathome in the different posts published since last weekend.

On this occasion, Turisme de Barcelona’s different communication channels, which have more than 475,000 users, are available to all the businesses in the sector so they can publish, disseminate and post all the initiatives that the operators, amenities and agents in the city are promoting online, thus adding value to the active positioning of the city. Ideas for virtual museums, books, classical music and food will be featured on Turisme de Barcelona’s networks to bring the best of the destination to the homes of future visitors and instilling in them the desire to travel.
