The majority of Budapest's open-air baths welcome visitors. The Palatinus, Paskál, Pesterzsébet, Csillaghegy and Római Baths opened their gates on 30 May 2020. The Pünkösdfürdő Baths opened for business on 15 June 2020 at the latest. Tickets can be purchased both on the spot or online.
Please note that visitors cannot enter without slippers.
Open-air baths promise to fully comply with the official public health regulations but also expect their visitors to do so. Lido-goers must adhere to the new policy, which includes social distancing measures and makes wearing slippers mandatory, for instance.
Ticket purchase – online and on-site
Taking into account the feedback gathered from the public, visitors can buy tickets both online and on-site.
To facilitate contactless entry, open-air baths encourage visitors to buy their tickets online. This also guarantees admittance to the bathhouse, as open-air baths won’t be able to accept more visitors after they reach their maximum capacity. However, those who bought their tickets online will still have the chance to take a dip in the water.
During the epidemic, purchasing tickets online is also recommended because paying online is still considered the safest cashless payment method. Attention! Visitors may buy their tickets online for the same day until 8 a.m.
Open-air baths also encourage visitors to use their credit cards when buying tickets at the counter. As in previous years, they only accept cashless payments in the bathhouse area.
As per the National Public Health and Medical Officer Service’s regulation, open-air baths may accept no more visitors than 50% of their original capacity for simultaneous visitors. Visitors should have a personal area of 16 m2 in the bathhouse, while 4 m2 of water surface should be at their disposal in the swimming pools. In the case of Budapest’s bathhouses, the maximum capacity for hosting people at the same time is currently as follows:
Palatinus Thermal Bath, Public and Wave Pool 2,614
Csillaghegy Árpád Thermal Baths and Swimming Pool 1,408
Paskál Thermal Baths and Swimming Pool 1,251
Pesterzsébet Iodine-Salt Thermal & Open-Air Baths 804
Római Open-Air Baths 1,250
Pünkösdfürdő Open-Air Baths 456
