MINSK, 19 April (BelTA) - The Days of Minsk will take place in Budapest on 19-22 April 2018, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk City Hall.
The program of the activities will include the Belarusian-Hungarian business forum to display the trade, economic, industrial, investment and tourism potential. The Belarusian delegation will comprise representatives of Minskvodokanal, Minsk City Technopark, Kommunarka confectionary, Minskhlebprom bakery, the Minsk information and tourism center, Mingorspravka, Minotel and Hotel d'Europe.
On 20 April Minsk Mayor Andrei Shorets is expected to meet with Budapest Mayor Istvan Tarlos. The 21st district Csepel of Budapest and Partizansky District of Minsk are set to sign an agreement to promote cooperation in economy and trade, science and education, culture, literature and arts, sports and tourism, social affairs and health, youth and sports, information. The development of bilateral relations will also be discussed in the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
The Budapest Spring Festival 2018 will feature a stand of Minsk companies on 20-21 April. Minsk will be a guest of honor at the festival. The Belarusian dance company Khoroshki will perform as part of the cultural program of the festival.
The program will also include an exchange of the best municipal services, talks with Albacom company regarding the implementation of the Smart City project, and visits to the Budapest Central Wastewater Treatment Plant and the control center of the Budapest metro system.
The Days of Minsk in Budapest will become one of the key events to make the two capitals closer to each other. The agreement on cooperation between the two cities was signed on 28 November 2016 during the visit of the Minsk mayor to Budapest. The Days of Budapest were held in Minsk in April 2017. A delegation of the Hungarian capital took part in the celebrations of the 950th anniversary of Minsk.
Belarus and Hungary have been steadily developing their trade and economic relations. In 2017, the trade increased by 11% as against 2016 to exceed $43 million. The export went up by 8.2%. There are seven companies with the Hungarian capital in Minsk.
