Sevilla is the capital and largest city of the Spanish autonomous community of Andalusia. It offers its visitors attractions such as three UNESCO world heritage sites: the famous Cathedral with the Giralda tower, the Royal Alcazar Palace and the Archive of the Indies among many others. It also stands out with a unique flair and gastronomy as well as its famous tradition of Flamenco. Flamenco is rooted in the folkloric musical traditions of the Roma people and comprises a dance and singing accompanied with guitar music and is often associated with southern Spain.

Sevilla is a long-standing close partner of WTCF and joined the Federation in 2015. The city has strongly focused on positioning itself as an attractive urban destination for Chinese travelers. The number of Chinese visitors as a consequence has increased significantly in recent years. In 2018 the city has hosted the WTCF Europe Tourism Conference under the theme “China-Europe City Tourism Cooperation and Development” which gathered 200 tourism professionals and experts from Europe and China.
