The Chessboard Stone Scenic Area is located in the east of the Laoshan Scenic Area, with Taiqing Resort to its south, Yangkou to its north, Grand Peak to its west, and great sea to its east. The scenery here mainly comprises natural landscape - the Chessboard Stone, the natural grotto Naluoyan and the highest Taoist temples - Taoist Temple of Ming Dynasty and modern temple Huayan. This scenic spot is named after the Chessboard Stone, which is 637 meters high, and is the peculiar peak located in the north of the Gigantic Peak. This area includes 10 famous tourist attractions: Lotus-world Mountain Entrance, Faxian Statue, Dizhu Stone, Yuqi’s Statue, Huayan Temple, Naluoyan Grotto and Sea-seeing Gate and so on.
