Exchange Dublin is a volunteer-run arts collective providing free gallery, exhibition and event space to local and visiting artists from NCAD, TCD, DCU, DIT and other colleges, individuals and community groups.

Exchange Dublin is both a statement of intent and an invitation to the city.

Exchange Dublin holds discussions, gigs, visual arts and performance art, craft and dance workshops and anything else you can think of. There's a public collective meeting every wednesday at 7pm at which we programme and co-ordinate events in the space. All work is voluntary.

Exchange Dublin is a non-alcohol space and events are open to people of all ages.

In partnership with the Project Arts Centre, the space opened in 2009 with the aid of an Arts Council grant and the support of Temple Bar Cultural Trust and Dublin City Council Arts Office. However, all decision making around programming and events is carried out entirely independently by the collective, which became an independent co-operative on January 1st 2012. To become a member, just drop in or send an email to info@exchangedublin.ie

If you are an artist, musician, poet, dancer, writer, performer, artisan craftsmith or just visiting Dublin and hoping to organise an event or interested in what we do, send an email to info@exchangedublin.ie

Our aims are:

To provide an alcohol-free, drug-free space in Dublin city centre that is open until late for people of all ages.

To organise music, artistic and performance events with a strong emphasis on supporting the work of young people.

To be an independent, non-commercial space run entirely by volunteers.

To be a busy centre of activity and fresh ideas playing an important role in the cultural and political fabric of Dublin city.

To encourage and provide a forum for political, social and philosophical discourse.

To provide a centre for collaboration between creative young people.

To encourage participation in decision making and day to day running of the space by members.

To develop the skills of all those involved through workshops, skill share and constructive peer critique.

To have a fun time doing all of the above.

We are on Exchange Street Upper, Temple Bar (the street opposite Dublin Castle) on the corner with Cow's Lane/Essex Street West - an area with boutique clothes shops, lovely coffee shops and bakery, one of Dublin's best independent bookstores (The Gutter Bookshop), the famous Gaiety School of Acting and the reopened Smock Alley theatre, as well as the new Olivier Cornet Gallery and community cultural projects such as DCTV and Dublintellectual.
