Having originally opened in the 1980's, the centre has recently undergone a €60 million refurbishment and now comprises 5 linked light, airy mall areas - Central Mall, Mary Mall, Parnell Mall, Moore Mall and Central Square. Together these offer over 60 of Dublin's most popular shops, Café's and restaurants including Dunnes, Debenhams and H&M.

The first floor of the centre also houses the Central Library, providing a wide range of referencence and education services including the Business Information Centre, Open Learning Centre and Music Library.
