Going downhill on the slopes used in the Sapporo Olympics

Venturing to Mount Teineyama according to level and mood

This leisure facility is on Mount Teineyama and during the winter the whole mountain becomes a ski area. The area consist of the “Olympia Zone” close to the botton and the “Highland Zone” which includes the summit. There are a variety of ski slopes to choose from. If you area a skier, then you definitely want to try the Women’s Giant Slalom Course (2km) and the Men/Women Slalom Course (700m) which were used in the Sapporo Olympics in 1972. Skiing on the course that starts at the platform which bore the Olympic flame feels like jumping into the Ishikari Bay. If you are looking for a thrill ride, then we suggest the “Kita Kabe (Northern Wall)” course which takes you on a steep dive through the woods. The 6km beginners course is the longest in Hokkaido and allow you to go straight through the two zones. It is quite exhilarating.
