This museum revives the excitement of the Sapporo Olympic Games and allows visitors to experience the world of winter sports.

The Sapporo Winter Sports Museum is located at the foot of the Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium, which overlooks downtown Sapporo. Its collection includes numerous valuable materials related to the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympic Games. With these and additional materials on other international championships, such as the Nordic Ski Championships and the Universidad Winter Games, which Sapporo has hosted, the museum explains the history of winter sports to its visitors. There is also a section of the museum that allows visitors to simulate the experience of launching off of a ski jump, riding a bob sleigh, and spinning on ice skates. It’s a joy for both kids and adults. The museum aims to educate visitors about winter sports through knowledge and experience.
