Pulau Aman, an island off the coast of Bukit Tambul, is home for a small Malay fishing community of 250 persons. In recent times, it has become a popular fishing and tourist spot.

Visitors from all over Malaysian and South East Asia, especially China and Hong Kong; flocks the island daily for the variety of mouthwatering and fresh seafood served at the Pulau Aman Floating Restaurant.

To get there, one will need to catch a boat from Jeti Batu Musang. A return trip will cost RM6.00. The boat ride takes around 10-15 minutes and the restaurant is a 5 minute’s walk from the Pulau Aman jetty.

The restaurant serves a variety of noodles and rice dishes, such as Bihun Goreng, Koay Teow and Hor Fun, but the most popular dish is the “Mee Udang” or prawn noodles. It is considered to be one of the best Mee Udang in Penang, besides Sungai Dua, Butterworth and Teluk Kumbar. The dish consists of yellow noodles and a thick gravy with a balanced sweet, sour and spicy flavor. The prawns used are medium-sized and fresh out of the boat. Lettuce, fried tofu, chili and fried onions are used as garnish. A normal plate of Mee Udang costs RM6.00 while the “Special” plate ; with extra prawns costs RM10.00 .

Another specialty of the Pulau Aman Floating Restaurant is their fresh Mantis Prawn. However please note that the availability of the Mantis prawn is highly influenced by weather and seasonal changes.

The other side dishes available at this restaurant comprises of a selection of streamed seafood such as crabs , shellfish and prawns.

The owner and operators of Pulau Aman Floating Restaurant are all the native villagers of Pulau Aman. Food served at the restaurant are Halal.
