Introduction: Xuan Zang, a dignitary in the Tang Dynasty (818-907 AD), is the prototype of the character Tang Sanzang in the famous Chinese novel, “The Pilgrimage to the West”. In his hometown, tourists can visit Xuan Zang's former Residence, the royal monastery named Fo Guang Temple, Chen's Garden, Fenghuang Platform, Mati Fountain, Scripture Drying Platform and the Xiyuan Cemetery. Each spot is related to a legend about Xuanzang.
